Brand Appreciation: Mellfy Memory
I’ve talked about defunct brands on this blog, but it occurred to me that I haven’t written any posts dedicated to expressing my love for brands that are still around. I feel silly for not making this post sooner because while we can’t bring defunct brands back from the dead, we can always continue to support the brands that create quality clothes with character. This brings me to a brand I have recently fallen in love with.
Mellfy Memory, from what I could dig up, is a relatively new brand that sprang up in 2021.(I can’t find anything regarding the brand prior to 2021.) I only discovered them recently, yet the brand has already captured my heart because their designs are unapologetically girly, which is something I have yet to see in any other brand today. Most of my cherished girly Liz Lisa items, for example, were obtained secondhand because Liz Lisa seldom produces unapologetically girly items these days, opting for the more currently trendy Jirari-Kei style. Other brands such as Michelle Macaron or Evelyn produce a fair amount of girly clothes that are much more toned down and less risky, selling these clothes with a mix of more mature and feminine clothes.
On their brand concept page, Mellfy Memory states that the aim of the brand is to make the wearer look and feel cute. The clothes do exactly that by utilizing the core elements of girly fashion. Mellfy Memory’s designs make excellent use of tulle/sheer fabric, using it to create sleeves and skirts that have a carefree whimsical edge.
The brand also incorporates many girly prints into their garments.
I am also in love with the cute drawings the brand has produced of their clothes. They portray the already girly clothes in a way that makes the wearer feel like the main character, and capture the cute vibe perfectly. You can follow the artist who creates the drawing on Instagram and Youtube.
Compared to what comes up when I search for girly clothes, I will take Mellfy Memory’s designs anyday. The majority of clothes that come up when I search for girly clothes have no character or uniqueness compared to this brand.
To explore Mellfy Memory further, I encourage you to visit their Instagram page and watch reviews of the brand on YouTube.
thanks so much for popping over to see me. Those dresses are very cute!
