My Favorite Liz Lisa Era

Image
I want to write a love letter to girly fashion for my blog, so why not do it by writing about the brand that sparked my love for girly fashion. That brand is Liz Lisa! Background: Liz Lisa is a brand that was founded in 1999. When the brand first started it produced clothes that appealed to the Ganguro/Manba style, which was popular in Japan at the time. Over time, as girly and more feminine details became more popular, Liz Lisa slowly shifted towards that style. The shift started around 2003. For me, the pinnacle of Liz Lisa's girly style was between 2010 and 2013. The stores were adorned with vibrant colors, tulle, lace, cute buttons, and delicate florals. Every corner of Liz Lisa boutiques and promotional magazines exuded a whimsical, girly charm. I've lost count of how many times I've watched Kim Dao's video touring a Liz Lisa boutique from that magical era. Post 2017 is when Liz Lisa’s style began to shift again. Their designs became more muted and toned down to

Denim Peplum Top

Hey everyone! I’ve been wanting to blog about this top I made in January for a while now. I keep running into a problem once I finish my sewing projects. That being that I don’t have anything to wear with them. I wear girly skirts almost exclusively so I don’t have any bottoms to match this top. That’s why it took me so long to feature this top on my blog. Without matching bottoms I don’t have any great photos of me wearing this top. I’m definitely going to put a pair of denim jeans onto my to-sew list.  Can you guess what my inspiration for this top was? It was this image of denim items hanging in a d.i.a shop!  As soon as I capture some flattering photos of this top, I'll update this post. I didn't want to wait any longer to share it, especially since I haven't blogged about my 2024 creations yet. Currently, I'm working on a skirt to complement a recent top I made. I aim to complete it this week so I can feature it as a matching set on the blog. I’m hoping for some

Feminine Outfit Ideas

In my last post about feminine fashion I recommended items from my favorite brands. I’m in the mood to play boutique manager again, but this time I want to make some outfits. In this post I’ll be making feminine outfit recommendations. For those who are new to the style, the feminine fashion style aims to make the wearer feel lady-like and mature. Feminine fashion can be worn in a casual and dressy manner.  Outfit 1: I want to start this post with some feminine outfits I own. Ever since I got this top and skirt from Michell Macaron, I’ve been wearing them non-stop. Over winter break I wore this outfit to a Christmas festival and I got loads of compliments. Wearing this outfit has not only boosted my confidence, but I feel like I have an increase in motivation while wearing this. I think the boost in motivation comes from the fact that this outfit makes me feel like a college student.
